Louche Podcast 029 - Ryan Crosson

Another third birthday present in the build up to the big one this Saturday; an exclusive Visionquest podcast mixed by Ryan Crosson. The mix is a perfect taste of what’s to come this Saturday night, when we host the hotly anticipated UK debut of Visionquest. A beautifully constructed mix, organically flowing though ambient electronica to groovy minimal house, washed with eerie vocals and soundscapes. It epitomizes Visionquest’s sound, and its a real pleasure to put this one out.

Aurgasm - Donthink: Safe Bet

A luscious and vibrant sound was my aim for this mix, titled ‘Safe Bet’ because I wanted to create an introduction to downtempo / electronic music in a way that may captivate and grow interest. To subtly build an unfamiliar atmosphere and give hints of more to explore. Classical tendencies, strings especially, sweet beats, glitchy, cinematic effects, and jazzy grooves fill the air. Mixed in 2003 while DJ’ing at ErrorFM as I hoped to inspire people with new music from around the world. donthink - Safe Bet (63min): Xploding Plastix - Dieci Mujaji - Siempre (Jon Kennedy Remix) Bonobo - Change Down Jon Kennedy - Brown Acid Bathysphere - Where’s Vicky (Quantic Mix) Caural - Sipping Snake Blood Wine (Savath & Savalas Remix) The Cinematic Orchestra - All Things To All Men ft Roots Manuva Broadway Project - Beauty Yenara - When Mountain Meets The Sea A Guy Called Gerald - Humanity ft Louise Rhodes (Funkstörung Remiks) Daedelus - Minor Detour King Seven - Hidden Opiate - Pk 50 Hint - Count Your Blessings (Bonobo Mix) Florian Ross - Piano Interlude

DrumSkool215 Episode 7! w/ DJ Armen: "Jeepers Creepers!"

Ed Rush and Optical's seminal 1998 full length debut "Wormhole" always gets all the love... and for good reason. It pretty much changed the game for drum n bass, single-handedly dragging the sound into an unprecedented, new frontier. But it's the duos follow up, "The Creeps" (released in 2000) that always did it for me. It carefully built upon the rolling, techno-funk of its predecessor but was somehow this even funkier, grittier soul - the production streamlined to yet another level. It's aimed straight for the dancefloor, yet can just as easily be appreciated driving high speed down the interstate, during late night subway rides, or just spacing out on your bedroom floor inside a great pair of headphones. I've always felt the whole album works so well as one piece so I thought it was appropriate to showcase it on our podcast, in full, in October of course, an entire 10 years after it's release (wow, I feel old!). Joey Breakdown mixing Ed Rush & Opticals' "The Creeps": Ed Rush and Optical - Resurrection (feat. Ryme Tyme) - Virus Ed Rush and Optical - Check Out Time - Virus Ed Rush and Optical - Reach Out - Virus Ed Rush and Optical - Rock The House - Virus Ed Rush and Optical w/ Matrix - Flightpath - Virus Ed Rush and Optical - The Creeps - Virus Optical & Ryme Tyme - White Lightning - Virus Ed Rush and Optical - Pacman - Virus Ed Rush and Optical - Greed - Virus Ed Rush and Optical w/ Matrix - Fastlane (feat.
